Over the past three decades, Paul has worked in IT jobs from software developer to worldwide IT manager for an American multinational. In 2004 he helped set up the Knockmore Community Network, a non-profit co-op, to bring broadband to the Knockmore area. A year later he and a group of like-minded investors set up Westnet to deliver wireless broadband throughout Mayo and beyond.
Peter has been involved in the communications sector in Ireland for over 20 years and brings both technical and operational experience to Westnet.
As Operations Manager, he oversees the logistical and financial aspects of the business. Since starting with the company in 2006 he has worked with the team to develop the comprehensive network of wireless, fibre & copper infrastructure delivering high speed broadband to the length and breadth of County Mayo and its surrounds.

Shane came to Westnet having previously held a number of senior technical roles in the UK and with currently over 20 years experience in the sector. Shane joined Westnet in its infancy in 2006 as a contractor, his work ethic and drive to see the company succeed saw him become one of the company’s Directors in his first year. Shane Coordinates internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects while ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. He develops project scopes and objectives, and ensures technical feasibility while also managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Shane performs risk management to minimise project risks and develops a detailed project plan to track progress of all projects.
Annemette brings to Westnet the benefit of her strong cross-functional experience primarily gained in the GE corporation, where she worked for more than 15 years in both the USA and the UK.
After moving to Ireland she spent time working for IHS in Denver and Reading before joining Westnet, where her wealth of knowledge in the areas of commercial, legal, finance and project management together with her multinational experience has proved invaluable.
Sarah joined Westnet broadband as Marketing Manager, she carries out all online/offline marketing strategies for the company. Sarah plans and executes all digital marketing for Westnet, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns. She designs, builds and maintains the company’s social media presence.
She has grown their audience across platforms while coordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities to ensure maximum growth. She manages and improves lead generation, measuring, monitoring and reporting on effectiveness of marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
David has been with Westnet for over 11 years. After starting out on the road as an installer, he has worked his way up to senior network engineer, and over the years working with our customers has amassed a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to truly understand our customers’ requirements.
He has educated himself to a very high level, holding Cisco CCNP and Mikrotik certificates. He has a profound knowledge of Westnet’s network and continues to design, develop and improve the network for both business and residential customers with a strong drive for customer satisfaction.
Bernie manages the accounts and sales for Westnet, she is first point of contact for the company and her aim is to satisfy customers’ needs and requests. She responds to their queries in a timely manner to to deliver a positive customer experience and smooth customer journey.
She endeavours to generate new business using existing and potential customer networks and to develop positive relationships with clients. Bernie also reports on the status of accounts and transactions to ensure a smooth workflow within the company. She has excellent communication and negotiation skills and is customer service oriented. Bernie came to Westnet with a wealth of customer service experience and holds a qualification in Office Administration.
Breege monitors the processing of Broadband Application Forms/direct debits/invoices for Westnet and ensures timely collection of payments and contracts from customers.
She negotiates with clients in non-payment cases, organises contracts and invoices to ensure the smooth running of the company. Breege has a can-do, problem solving attitude and ensures maximum confidentiality in all company transactions. She brings with her a wealth of experience from 15 years working as a Legal Secretary and is a valued member of the Westnet Team.
Michael has a Proven field service experience with Westnet for the past 7 Years. He provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches to all our customers, he tie’s workflows to schedules to ensure maximum time efficiency throughout his working day. Michael can manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks. His Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment is second to none.His ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules makes him a go-to member of Team Westnet. He has built up a vast knowledge and Familiarity with mobile tools and applications that support his working day.
Michael is a qualified Mast Climber and he recently completed a course with City & Guilds obtaining a Certificate in Communications Cabling (Fibre Splicing).
