Westnet Broadband Mayo Limited, a leading regional internet service provider in County Mayo, are delighted to announce that we are working with National Broadband Ireland to bring high speed fibre broadband to 36, 495 premises across County Mayo in the coming months which is 43% of all premises in the County.   Surveying is already underway with the first connections expected to go live later this year.

Under the National Broadband Plan, Mayo will see an investment of €145M in the new high-speed fibre network. This will enable e-learning, remote monitoring of livestock or equipment, e-health initiatives, better energy efficiency in the home, and facilitate increased levels of remote working.

Who are NBI?

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) is the company who will design and build a high speed fibre network for rural Ireland.

What is Westnets relationship with NBI?

NBIs role is to build and manage the delivery of bringing a fibre optic cable directly to homes and businesses in rural Ireland, sometimes referred to as Fibre To The Home (FTTH)  They are not an Internet Service Provider (ISP). This is where Westnets relationship with NBI develops. We will deliver an Internet service over the infrastructure built by NBI

If I am a current Westnet customer can I get service over the NBP?

Yes, if your property is in the Intervention Area then Westnet can offer you a service over the NBP. We will be contacting all our customers in due course, but if you would like to register your interest before that please get in touch via the above form.
