The Westnet Mayo U9, 10 & 11 Children’s Games and U12 Track & Field Championships were held in Claremorris last Saturday. Almost four hundred athletes and ninety five relays competed on the day. The weather was a mixture of heavy rain, wind and sunshine. Despite this the children gave it their all with the U9 girls and boys competing for the first time. Congratulations to all and the best of luck to all who qualified for the Connacht championships. Thanks to Claremorris Athletic Club for providing refreshments to all the volunteers and thanks also to all who officiated on the day.
